To boost the overall productivity of Indian Agro Electronics Industries, the C-DAC, Kolkata (Erstwhile ER&DCI, Calcutta) has undertaken comprehensive IT-enabled automation of all processes of this crucial export-earner of the Indian economy.

 

In collaboration with CEERI, Pilani and Tea Research Association, Kolkata, the Centre has been selected as the Nodal Implementing Agency for a major plant automation project funded by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology and Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India.

Scope of work includes: 

  • Planning and implementation of model tea factory at TES, Jorhat

  • Design and development of instrumentation and control system for different unit operations  

  • Integration of all the processes

The benefits envisaged are: 

  • Increase in productivity for all the processes

  • Reduction in total time for the processes

  • Indirect increase in the installed capacity

  • Saving in electrical energy

  • Process control leading to consistency in the quality

  • An integrated web-based distributed Management
